Name changed to Star in 1907
· Early settlers arrived in 1896 and following years
· The first Mass was offered in a private home in 1898 by Father Wojciech Albert Kulawy, OMI, who had come from Winnipeg. One year later he was followed by his brother Father John Kulawy. From 1900 the settlers were visited and served by Father Francis Olszewski (1900-1911)
· In 1905 a log chapel was built and blessed by Bishop Emile Legal, OMI, on Dec. 18, 1906. It was dedicated to St. John Cantius, a Polish saint. A bell bought in 1907, was blessed by bishop E. elgal.
· A new larger church was started in 1915 and completed in 1918. Archbishop H.J. O’leary blessed it on Sunday, July 23, 1922 and dedicated it to the Sacred Heart on the advice of Father Boniface O.F.M.
· In 1925, the church was painted and decorated by the well-renowned Peter Lipinski.
· On June 18, 1995 (Sunday) the parish was reborn for a day to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, the first procession at the church since 1953.
· On Sunday, August 1, 1954, the beautiful illuminated cross erected by Mr. & Mrs. Anton Capor on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary was blessed by Rev. F. Tomczak (cf. Western Catholic Aug 4, 1954).
· St. Michael became a mission of Bashaw in 1939.
· The church closed in 1974 due to shortage of priests and parishioners
· On June 26, 1976, a monument commemorating the pioneers (1896-1915) was blessed by Archbishop J.N. MacNeil. (Cf. Western Catholic Reporter July 5, 1976)
· On November 18, 1990, the 75th anniversary of St. Michael Archangel church was celebrated with Archbishop J.N. MacNeil as main celebrant.
