War Order of "Virtuti Militari"

This silver War Order of Virtuti Militari (Polish: Krzyż Orderu "Virtuti Militari") is Poland's highest and one of the oldest military decorations in the world still in use. It is awarded for oustanding heroic achievements and courage in the face of the enemy at war.
Awerse of the medal has an inscription "VIRTUTI MILITARI" on top, bottom and
horizontal arms of the cross, and white eagle in the centre of the cross. The
reverse has an inscription in Polish : "HONOR OJCZYZNA 1792" in the centre.
Monte Casino Commemorative Cross

The Monte Cassino Commemorative Cross is awarded to all soldiers who fought in the battles of Monte Casino, Piedimonte and Passo Corno in Italy during the II World War. This medal was created in May 1944 by the Polish Government in Exhile in London to commemorate the role of the Polish II Corps, also known as Anders Army in capturing Monte Casino and taking it from Germens. A total of 48,498 crosses were awarded to all soldiers who took part in the battle. Awerse of the medal has an inscription "MONTE CASINO MAJ 1944" and reverse contains a serial number of the medal (1 to 48,498).
Cross of Valour

The Cross of Valor was first introduced on August 1920 by the Council of National Defence. It is awarded only in wartime or shortly after to soldiers for their courage on the field of battle. It is a bronze colored cross with a shield framing the centre and a Polish eagle within the shield. Top and horizontal arms of the cross contain text in Polish: "NA POLU CHWALY" (English: On the Field of Glory) and "1944" on the bottom arm of the cross. Reverse of the medal on both horizontal arms has an inscription in Polish: "WALECZNYM".
The Cross was reintroduced in December 1944 as a military decoration and until 1947 awarded to approximately 40,000 Polish soldiers fighting alonside the Red Army.

Sybir Deportee Cross

The Sybir Deportee Cross is a military decoration awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland to Polish citizens deported to Syberia, Kazachstan or North Russia between 1939-1956 to recognize and honour their hardship, heroic experiences and loyalty to freedom and independence of the Republic of Poland. The medal can also be awarded to the disident children born in exhile.
It is a silver cross with a red shield sourounded by a broken chain framing the centre and a Polish eagle within the shield. Two golden swords cross in the middle of the cross. Reverse of the cross has an inscription in Polish "ZESŁAŃCOM SYBIRU" (English: Sybir Deportees).

The Defence Medal (United Kingdom)

The Defence Medal was a campaign medal established on August 16, 1945 and awarded for three years of service in Great Britain during World War II until May 1945 or six months overseas in territories subjected to enemy attacts. The medal was awarded to recognize both military and some type of civilian services. In the case of mine and bomb disposal units, the time qualification was three months. Canadians serving for one year in Newfoundland, persons serving for six months in Hong Kong, or in West Africa, Palestine and India qualified also for this award.
The circular, silver medal shows the head of King George VI and the legend: GEORGIVS VI D: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP (George 6th, by the grace of god, king of all the Britains, defender of the faith, emperior of India) around the rim. The reverse shows the Royal Crown resting above an oak tree and flanked by a lion and lioness. The base of the medal has an inscription: "THE DEFENCE MEDAL" and above it the dates 1939 and 1945 on the top left and right respectively.

The Italy Star

The Italy Star was a campaign medal awarded for service in World War II. The medal was awarded for operational service in the Mediterrainean and Aegean Seas and around Greece, Yugoslavia, Dodecanese Island and Elba between June 11, 1943 and 8 May 1945. Service on Austrian territory during the last few days of the Second World War also qualified for this star.
It is a bronze, six pointed star with the GRIVI monogram in the centre surmounted by a crown and an inscription "THE ITALY STAR". The reverse is plain. The Pro Memoria Medal is a civil decoration instituted on January 25, 2005 by
the Office for the Combatants and Victims of Oppression. It is awarded for outstanding contributions in perpetuating the memory of the people and deeds in the struggle for independence of Poland during and after World War II.

This Cross of Merit was established on June 23, 1923 to recognize outstanding services of civilians to the country. The medal may be awarded in three grades: Gold, Silver and Bronze and twice in each grade.
The gold, silver or bronze coloured cross has red enemaled, concave arm bases and sunburst lines between the arms, and a central circle surrounded by a laurel wreath with initials "RP". The reverse is plain.

It is a silver cross with arms of the letters V that symbolize victory and crowned Polish eagle in the centre. The reverse of the cross shows an inscription in Polish "1939 POLSKIE SILY ZBROJNE NA ZACHODZIE 1945" (English: 1939 Polish Armed Forces in the West 1945). The ribbon has silver bars with the battle name (TOBRUK, ANKONA, MONTE CASSINO and BOLONIA) attached to it.

The Cross of September Campaign (Polish: Krzyż Kampanii Wrześniowej 1939) was awarded to military personnel to commemorate their struggle against Germany and Russia in September and October 1939. The cross was instituted by the Polish Government in exile in London in 1984 (45th anniversary of the beginning of World War II).

Tobruk Siege Medal

The Tobruk Siege Medal was issued to Australian, British, Indian, New Zeland and Polish troops who participated in the battle of Tobruk during World War II between April and December 1941. This medal was issued by the Rats of Tobruk Association in 1977.
It is a "T" shaped medal with the inscription "TOBRUK SIEGE 1941". The reverse of
the medal contains the name and number of its recipient.
